Inspired by Straightjacketed and his leather sightings entries in his blog – I thought I would comment on how wonderful it is to so so many leather shirts being worn by young guys in London.
In the UK the tale started about two years ago when a clothing designer called “All Saints” bought out their leather rock shirt.

The shirt was a simple leather affair with chrome press studs everywhere – and could be dressed up or dressed down. Taken up by many a pop star or rich and famous celeb, it did not take long to catch on and ripple through to the general public. Walking through London or catching a train usually means a sighting or two as you catch guys wearing the great shirts.
OK – some might argue that the shirt is actually a jacket but I don’t – I see it as a shirt and as such it brings a whole new avenue of leather wear to the mainstream. Leather shirts have always featured in the typical gay image – but these new designs look so good, trendy and slick that they have reached out to a new younger straight market plus also look so good on those who wear them. They always catch my eye whenever I see one being worn.

Unfortunately for me the brand in question design clothes made for skinny blokes with no excess weight so I could not own such a shirt, but luckily for me, eBay came to the rescue as there are a few companies out there making great replicas. If you can’t find any on eBay – there are companies online that sell such shirts – one such site – should you need it is HERE.
Nowadays, lots of other brands have jumped on the leather shirt bandwagon and the bloke on the street has many choices. For me this is wonderful as the more leather we see on the streets the better.
